Thank you to Douglas Crowe and family for donating a rare document to our Archives. This certificate, signed by President Herbert Hoover in January 1931, appointed Chester Holt Postmaster of Stow Township. Chester Holt was Stow’s pharmacist at the time and the post office was in the Holt’s Drugs building at 3310 Kent Road, Stow. Chester and his wife lived above the business and kept it open 365 days a year from 1926 to 1958, until Harold and Jacqueline Winkler purchased it. The Winklers operated Stow Pharmacy for 34 years.
