DAWN: Developing Alternatives for Women in New Communities

DAWN is a non-profit organization established to help refugee women new to the Akron/Cleveland area. The women have brought knitting and sewing skills from Nepal, Bangladesh, and Iraq. Classes are focused on learning to apply and fine-tune these skills in the United States.  Instructors and the women have made a  commitment, the results of which is an increased sense of pride in themselves and  to their new home.
