Board Meeting Notes

Stow Historical Society Board of Trustees met Monday, April 13th at 7:00 p.m. at Stow Safety Center. Present were members John Baranek, Howard Corathers, John Daugherty, Beth Daugherty, Marcia Gilmore, and Jacinda Warman. The Heritage House Museum will be cleaned and open soon in anticipation of the third-grade school tours, which will take place in May. The Darrow House and Starr Houses are also being given a thorough spring cleaning.

The historic buildings at Heritage Reserve Park are available for private tours for family reunions, company retreats, church groups, or any groups or individuals interested in a unique event. New this year is the Stewart School, Stow’s last one-room schoolhouse, now situated near the historic houses. If interested please contact Board President John Baranek at 330-689-2852. Private tours do depend on the generous participation of volunteers to welcome visitors to each house.

Vendors are already signing up for our annual Harvest Festival. We are always looking for volunteers to help out at the Festival. In particular we need someone to coordinate parking. If you are interested in donating a few hours of your time to help the Festival run smoothly, please call President John Baranek at 330-689-2852.

Interior renovation of the Stewart School is set to begin this spring. We welcome monetary donations to help fund the needed repairs. A donation form can be found here or simply use the DonateĀ button on our website. Donations are greatly appreciated. If you would like to volunteer your labor or talents, please contact Chairman Bob Flower.
