Board Meeting Notes

Stow Historical Society Board of Trustees met Monday, October 14th at Stow City Hall. Present were John Baranek, Howard Corathers, LaVerne Corathers, John Daugherty, Beth Daugherty, Bob Flower, and Marcia Gilmore. Agenda included update and discussion of the recent annual Harvest Festival. Attendance was very good this year, and thirty vendors participated. Attendees enjoyed the Ohio Living History reenactors, the apple butter stirring, blacksmith, chair caner, weaver, musical entertainment, pumpkin painting, live animals, and Stow schools exhibit in the Heritage House Museum. Kitchen sales were excellent, as were raffle ticket sales. Positive comments came from vendors and attendees. This huge event could not have occurred without the help of many dedicated volunteers. Special thank you to the Houston Morgan family for coordinating the apple butter and to Jean Call for her dedication to the Mary Starr House.

Bob Flower updated the Board on the Stewart School move, set for October 16th. Much coordination is involved in this complex project. Thank you to Bob and his crew, and the fundraising committee.

The next Board of Trustees meeting will be held November 11, 2013.
