Board Meeting Notes

Stow Historical Society Board of Trustees met June 10, 2013 at 7:00 p.m. at Stow City Hall. Present were John Baranek, Howard Corathers, LaVerne Corathers John Daugherty,  Beth Daugherty, Bob Flower, Marcia Gilmore, and Tammie Menke. John Pribonic and Annie Hanson, representing the Old Schoolhouse Committee were also present. Officer’s reports were heard.  Plans are made to have a float in the upcoming July4th Parade, with Tammie Menke as project coordinator. Volunteers are needed to help construct the float. There is a need for landscaping and clean-up of flower beds around the historical houses and volunteers are needed. Bob Flower presented an update of the Stewart School (Old Schoolhouse) Project. Beth Daugherty reported on the status of the Archives Office. John Baranek noted that the location of the annual picnic will be at the Heritage Barn, not at the Call farm. Date is August 26th at 6:00 p.m.

Our next member meeting will be Saturday June 22nd. Meet at 9:00 a.m. at Stow Safety Center parking lot. We will then car pool to Mustill Store in Akron for a tour of the museum and mill site with Denny Reiser.
