March 27, 2017 – Local Historian and Ohio Traveler Denny Reiser will be with us at our first meeting of 2017. Denny will show use more places to see along the Ohio and Erie Canal National Heritage Corridor. This program will take place at Stow City Hall.
April 24, 2017 – Laura Peskin will present a program on education, transportation, women’s history and more near Summit County. Material will come from Peskin’s Deep Cover Cleveland book series, as well as research surrounding Women’s History Month 2017. Peskin is the author of the book series, Deep Cover Cleveland, and has contributed to various periodicals. She is active in local historical societies and contributes to their publications.
June 26, 2017 – Local resident and author, Barb Baltrinic will join us to discuss her latest book, A Patriot’s Price (The Fighting Clarks Book 2). In this sequel to A Founder for All, Abraham Clark’s son, Andrew, ventures into war armed with his sense of patriotism and strong values. September 25, 2017 – Author and Akron Beacon Journal Local History columnist, Mark J. Price, will be our featured speaker in September. Price is an award-winning journalist from Akron, Ohio. A graduate of Akron North High School, he earned his journalism degree from Kent State University. He has worked as a copy editor and staff writer for the Akron Beacon Journal since 1997.
October 23, 2017 – Enjoy the music of vocalist Judy Brown as she presents “Music for the Young at Heart”. A resident of Hudson, Brown is a multi-talented performer whose acting on-camera, spokesperson and singing abilities have earned her featured roles on stage, in television and motion pictures.
