March 28, 2016 –Summit County Historical Society will be joining us March 28th with a program from their Remember When series: Happy Days Are Here Again—the Baby Boom Years. This program takes us on a journey down memory lane. Photos, collectibles, music and memorabilia highlight the various forms of entertainment between 1946-1964. From Hula Hoops to Rock n’ Roll, Roy Rogers to drive-in movies and Dance Halls to noisy games of Yahtzee, we remember the lighter side of the Baby Boom Years!

laurelbuttonslApril 25, 2016 – Our April 25th meeting will feature Button Expert Emilie Illson from Button Down Designs. Emilie will focus on 9 different types of antique buttons: Bone, Vegetable Ivory, Porcelain, Tin, Painted Wood, Bison Horn, Mother-of-Pearl, Celluloid, and Bakelite, bringing examples of each. bethlibraryJune 27, 2016 – Beth Daugherty, Stow-Munroe Falls Public Library Local History Librarian will present Documenting The Past Through Oral History at the June 27th meeting. Learn about the Stow-Munroe Falls Public Library Oral History Project and the basics of conducting an oral history interview.

September 26, 2016 – Speakers from the Summit County Court of Common Pleas – Probate Division, office of Judge Elinore Marsh Stormer will present information on probate services. From an historical perspective – types of records kept at Probate, unusual/oldest/interesting documents, process to access records. From a Probate perspective – Probate’s programs & services, how to protect one’s assets, information on Advance Directives, and handouts for all attendees.

 

 

October 24, 2016 – Munroe Falls Paranormal Society (MFPS) is a non-profit (Registered with the State of Ohio) group of Paranormal Investigators and Researchers based in Munroe Falls. With a collective team experience of 50+ years in paranormal research and investigation, the MFPS team brings together a professional approach to solving paranormal phenomena.The group was formed with the initiative to seek the truth behind many types of paranormal phenomena. SHS members and guests will learn about the history of the organization, the investigative process, and some local cases of paranormal activity.
